Already in live production, RIPE includes all of the software that you need to interact with the various registries, your credit card processor, databases, resellers, and your client-accessible front-end web site. RIPE also comes with the WebTool, a robust web-accessible administrative tool for use by the various people and departments within your organization. Technical support, sales support, and business management tools are all included in the WebTool. Of course, the WebTool employs access level interlocks so that, for example, your phone support personnel aren't able to view business-related information.

RIPE is a fully-scalable system based on Linux and the WebTopia web server. With more than twenty configurable e-mail messages, the RIPE registry solution can e-mail both completion and failure confirmation messages to the customer. This is especially useful for customers with dial-up or other potentially unstable connections; RIPE will complete their transaction once started and they're sure to get a confirmation.

When scaled to multiple servers RIPE maintains security through Blowfish and SSL/TLS encryption. Further, each server in the RIPE system has its own IPTables firewall and the database server is connected through a separate ethernet port that is not connected to the Internet.

RIPE supports three payment models, each of which falls-back on the next in succession: cash/check, pre-paid (deposit) account, and credit card. Cash/check and deposit account processing is all "local" to RIPE, with credit cards processed on-line via an encrypted IP gateway to the card processor.

We've taken the time to build in all the features you'd expect from a proven system: automatic backups, self-health monitoring with automatic pager notification capabilities, built-in detection and rate-limiting for automated software query agents and the like, fully-automated nameserver configuration and control, and fully-automated e-mail and hosting configuration and control.

All of the components and capabilities needed to operate according to the accreditation agreements are included, for example WHOIS service, automatic renewal notice generation, and automatic annual WDRP (WHOIS Data Review Policy) notices.
